You know when you wake up and it’s not even past a certain hour that you know you are going to just have an awesomely bad day? From the moment you step out of bed and all you want to do is jump right back in, sleep the rest of the day off and start over the next morning? That is exactly how this book starts out and let me tell you I can definitely relate. When I can relate to a book in the beginning paragraph I become ecstatic because I know not only am I going to enjoy this book but that I am going to be able to identify with the characters as well.
Getting to the nitty gritty of my review for this book…. I’m sure almost all of you have a had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right or that something was going to go wrong. I’m also sure that most of you are like me and ignore your gut feeling even though you have always been told to go with your gut. Yea that doesn’t work so much for me and in the end I’m always like, “I should have definitely listened to my gutâ€. This book, “The Fire Insideâ€, is one of those books that make you realize you should definitely listen to your gut and not ignore all the warning bells churning in the pit of your stomach and all the signs of a day that starts bad. I have to say that even though this was a quick short read, the book held a lot of raw emotion.
This short story, “The Fire Insideâ€, touches on the topic of mental illness and how devastating an affect mental illness can have on the persons life that has to deal with the illness. I really liked how the author was able to write this short story in a way that many can understand and possibly relate to. Many people suffer from mental illness and are to shy or embarrassed to seek help and therefore the illness goes un-treated and can have devastating consequences. This book holds so much truth to the story written behind it that it is hard not to feel like you are not apart of it. I have known people that have had to deal with a mental illness and have seen the positive affects one has when they take action to seek help and the devastating affects that take place to those who shy away from help.
In the end, not only was this book about someone who needed help, but also about devastating loss as well as finding love. For anyone who wants a quick short read that can hit a nerve, I would definitely recommend this book.
It was a quick read and when Brad and Alicia reconnect, it was everything you thought it would be. Well written and with emotions that I connected with. It did make me cry but it was worth it. I would definitely read this over and over again.
I must start off by saying that I love that this book was dedicated to people who are suffering a mental illness. It also had acknowledgements to the people who have been affected by school violence. Along with the recent tragedy that struck the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newton,CT. and to all the brave survivors of school violences.
For me this book held a lot of emotion, I cried and my heart ached for people that have lived & died, or have been affected by this type of complete devastation. My heart goes out to you all!
This book was extremely raw and held so much truth and reality. But the book also had a happy side to it. Not only does it show how the characters find their own peace but it also told a love story along the way. It was a very short novel but a good one at that.
This author is very passionate in her writing and likes to write about truth of the real world. I could tell this after reading her first fictional novel...what lies under the weeping willow tree (which is a longer book that you must read)
I really loved this book due to the fact that it was dedicated not only to those who suffer from mental illness, but also the children who died in the school shooting at Sandy Hook and who will always be remembered, but never forgotten.
This book was filled with pure, raw emotion and I could feel each and every emotion and felt as if I was part of the story. I was so drawn into the story, that I could not put it down and had to continue reading until I finished it. I walked away feeling inspired and wanting to read more from this amazing brand-new fiction author!
This author is an amazing writer and I know that her books will be on the #1 New York best sellers list.
`The Fire Inside' is a great book for those who like a real story, with true to life characters to get to know.
Have you ever had a day when everything goes wrong starting from the minute you wake up? The main character is usually on her game, and a very optimistic person...today she was just having one of those days. Starting with the alarm not going off, the dog eating her shoes, and her being late for her Teaching job too, things just seem to get worse as the day goes on.
The school was having a rally when suddenly the worse happens, and danger sets in. With the bomb squad, life squad, and fire department all on the scene, this is the last place you would expect love to blossom. As she is charged with keeping her students safe, she becomes frantic when she can't find her special needs child. The caring man who helps her find her, turns out to be the love of her life. Watch how this love grows from a tender first touch.
Each character is written with great thought given to how someone would act in a real life situation, and it will grab your attention from the first page to the last. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes a quick read that will keep you enthralled from beginning to end.
